When I switch to reading view my metadata looks completely different than in your example. It's named "Properties" instead of "Metadata" and it includes symbols and generally looks "prettier". Is this due to some update or did I mess around too much with plugins/themes?

Man, full stop after double space bugged the heck out of me. I thought I'd enjoy it, but it kept getting in the way, so it got turned off. Good video though. I've been a Windows user for 30+ years, and a Mac user for just 1, but I've learned a lot, and I find I've done a lot of the things you're recommending.

This is refreshing! Have been a believer of time blocking, used it, adopted it, adapted to it, for ~7 years. But there's always this inflexibility and rigidness that comes with time-blocking and felt like a robot. Time itself is a construct and we put tasks and events that we may or may not do and get stressed about it. Going with your energy levels and leaving space for creativity, relaxation, and above all, having fun at what you're doing is the way to go. Of course, you would need a calendar to put unmissable events like meetings, class, soccer match, etc. There's no perfect system, no perfect paid or free productivity app, no need to spend hundreds or thousands on a productivity app, just take some time and find a system that best fits your needs is all it takes. You shouldn't "eat the frog" or do the hardest thing first just because someone or some book says. You're 10x productive when you are in your zone and at your highest peak of energy. Personally, I'm very much against these AI calendar apps that promote themselves as some sort of 21st century breakthrough and *automatically* plan everything for the user, like what are we, robots? (maybe in the very near future AI will definitely help with this, right now, no where near).

You didn’t just say that turning off “natural” on the trackpad feels more natural…… You’ve been used to windows or using a scroll bar… disabling natural makes the Scroll bar move in the same direction as your fingers not the screen… Natural is actually with the setting on. The CONTENT moves in the same direction as the fingers not the scroll bar 🫠🫠🫠

It constantly breaks and wont view correctly when nothing has changed. Is it this broken for everyone?

For me, using Cmd+Q is much easier instead of the hot corner with quick notes

Great video One question I have set up the Readwise Inbox and started processing articles etc from reader. However some of the saved items cannot be deleted, despite me removing the hashtag links etc. They sit in the inbox, there is no linked file, if you right mouse click they just state “creat link”. I cannot seem to remove them - any ideas?

That's the thing. "Too many" good plugins. Too many security risk vectors. IF you recommending them you should also let people know that every single one of them poses a potential risk of sensitive information exposure. The developers still didn't come out with a good answer to the review of the community plugins. Reviewing the initial release and relying on the community to review the releases and updates of plugins they use is presumptuous. Hopefully they realize it sooner or later. And hopefully the community realizes this as well before someone is seriously hurt.

TL;DR I approve these Mac Settings (as if my opinion has any weight) I was agreeing with all the things until you were said to create your own recents folder; I raised my eyebrow because I use it so much. As soon as I followed your suggestions and suddenly I had a folder that was ACTUALLY more useable than I expected, I hit subscribe and like. Thank you! It isn't very often that I am surprised by the results of "Mac Settings That ACTUALLY Make A Difference". I sincerely mean this when I say it, great job on providing suggestions that are actually useful and that feel like a fresh perspective 👆🏼❤

For the better Recents folder, do you have a purple Recents folder that is in the new Recents folder? I wish I could send a screenshot, but it looks like it's a placeholder for the new folder itself? Is there any way to get rid of it? It's always at the top because it's technically the most recent thing opened since I'm opening it itself to get into the folder.

Nice idea but 9€ for such a small service is completely insane. Subscriptions in general are just peak capitalistic greed but small purpose digital services like this really blow it away with their greed.

The focus modes have some simple built in automations, just fyi. Like the when opening the apps, trigger a mode, you do so by setting a schedule in its setting. Other automations includes location and time triggers.

Great video! However, I can't get the Alfred Shortcuts workflow to work. It installs and pops up one time, then stops popping up. You mentioned you had to make a one-time payment. I have the Alfred Legacy Powerpack.

I use the shortly app to automate the wallpaper image when ever I change the focus mode and it work well on my Mac cause I use focus modes as a sort of areas and I can change the wallpaper on my Mac like on my iPad and my iPhone using that app and shortcut

Just use Siri to trigger the shortcuts.
